Don't be shy, it's only me mum

I think that you are suppose to say this post's title with a British accent. Why, I am not sure. Perhaps it is because this never-lifting fog is reminding me of the infamous London fog.

Anyways, my mom and I walked to the dyke today, mainly because she wants to see the animals that I had shown her many times with my photographs, such as eagles, muskrats, herons, harriers, snow geese, hawks, etc.

Yet nature rarely complies with what the the human desires, and we saw almost nothing in the thick fog. I guess animals don't like this kind of weather either. But we did saw these three dependable animals, and others animals like sparrows, blackbirds, starlings, gulls.

Great Blue Heron in the fog

Spotted Towhee taking a bath

Townsend's Vole gathering food

The fog is still there when we left, and will be for the next two days as well. Oh well, at least the weather is dry and I guess I should be happy about that.

I'm surprise that you see so many voles out in the open. Does this happen all the time, or only during this London fog?

I am beginning to see them quite frequently now after our harsh snowstorms in Dec and Jan.

I am not sure if it is because I know where to look for them now or if these little fellows have run out of food to feed on. Hope it's the former and not the latter.

Wow, rare to see a vole out in the open here. They skeedaddle out of sight pretty darn quick!

We have seen few critters this last month or so ... too much ski and ski-do activity in the near by hills. My friend has a fox story that I hope she'll let me share in the next day or two!

Wouldn't you know it, when you want to show someone a critter or a bird, there is nary a one to be seen. Something akin to when you leave your camera at home ... you are guaranteed the shot of a lifetime then!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving the kind comment.

I hope you find a job soon ... one with a nice blend of fun and challenge. My husband was in weather (now there's a challenge) but he LOVED it, especially the forestry side ... fire weather. It is so good if one can LOVE their job. My jobs were okay but not enthralling!

Thank you, Cicero Sings, for your encouragement and kind words.

I am very intrigued about the fox story now.

And continuing to cross my fingers in searching for the perfect job. Thanks.
