
This fly belongs in Family Phoridae, also known as scuttle flies or humpback flies. One of the key features would be the enlarged hind femur (shown above).

This fly I wasn't sure of until I asked at
BugGuide. Just as I thought, it was a Long-legged Fly (Family Dolichopodidae).

Head without the scar-like suture and antennae not clubbed.
No anal cell in the wings and no division in the long middle cell.
I may be posting a lot of these posts in the future, since this is what I am working on most of my days.
