On my last off-days, I went to the Mariposa Folk Festival. It was quite an amazing experience - lots of interesting things to check out, great new bands and musicians to discover and the weather was just fantastic.
This was one of my favorite musicians at the festival - Catherine MacLellan.
After my off-days, it was back to work. Here are more photos from the field site.
We had already released some of our fledglings from the first clutch. After release, we need to do monitoring every few days, and it gives me a chance to explore more of our site.
Northern Leopard Frog is so neat!
Second clutch of shrikes!
This might be the coolest-looking insects I have ever seen - the Jagged Ambush Bug! [Edit: More info here.]
And more dragonfly photos.
A cool-looking caterpillar found during lunch one day - White-marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar.
Full moon on the early morning of July 26.
We found a bunny near our cabin the other day. It had a strange-looking front paw so we brought it to OSPCA in Orillia. Hope it can be treated and healed.
The abundant Upland Sandpipers living on our site.
