Holiday season update #2 from Peterborough

Hope everyone had a spectacular Christmas day.  This is another photographic update from the past few days.  I was busy cooking a turkey (for the first time) yesterday so I didn't get any chance to sort through yesterday's photos.

December 22nd (Sunday) - I shoveled snow in the driveway and was exhausted in the end to walk to school just for using internet.  I took the dog out for few short walks and that was about it.

Night sky-watching
I took the dog out for another walk in the evening, and we heard coyotes howling in the distance.  I also used my friend's Pentax K-01 camera and tried night photography with it (because it produces much cleaner high ISO images than my E-620).

December 23rd (Monday) - We walked to school and saw more spiders crawling on the snow.  It probably belongs to the family Tetragnathidae (i.e., Long-jawed Orb Weavers), but I haven't figure out what species it is yet.  I also saw a frozen honey bee on the snow, what a strange sighting (note: I saw two more dead honey bees on the 24th - there must be a hive nearby).

Frozen honey bees with ice crystals on it (probably because of the freezing rain last night).

Glowing sunset on ice-covered tree
The ice makes the tree look as if it is made out of glass.

December 24th (Tuesday) - Walked to school again with the dog.

Now that Christmas is over, time to look forward to the new year.
