Our first stop was seeing the islands at Rockport, Ontario.
St. Brendan's Church
Zavikon Island with a short (international?) bridge in between. According to Wikipedia, '[a] popular but incorrect tale among local guides is that the larger island is in Canada, while "Little Zavikon Island" is in the United States, and the footbridge between them is the "shortest international bridge in the world".'
Too bad that this is an American island and requires a passport to visit it.
Afterwards, we went to Casa Loma, a very popular tourist destination.
Entrance
Impossible to take pictures of the castle without any people in them.
From the garden.
B&W
CN Tower in the distance.
Toronto City Hall. Afterwards we went to the CN Tower, which I did not enjoy because it was expensive, poorly organized (took us almost an hour just waiting for the elevator to go down the tower), and the view was not very interesting at all.
After spending a night in a hotel next to the airport, we went to Niagara Falls the following day.
The first thing we did was going up the Skylon Tower to see Niagara Falls from above. I definitely enjoyed the view a lot more on Skylon Tower.
Horseshoe Falls
American and Bridal Veil Falls
Our next stop was seeing the falls from a boat.
Waiting for the tour guide to buy boat tickets.
Boats
Trailing rainbow.
Approaching Horseshoe Falls and getting wetter.
Grandiose!
The famous Maid of the Mist from America.
Afterwards, some people in the tour group went to Marineland while the others (my mother and I included) went to an outlet to have lunch and do some shopping.
One more week and then it's back to school!
