The background and the silhouette really caught my attention and deserved a photo.
My mother came back to Richmond last Wednesday and she brought back a replacement lens cap for me. I went to the spot to check on the lost one but it had disappeared! I suppose wind or something blew it off the plank and into the water.
Then well-known eagle nest by the golf course. Both adults were present at the time!
Magnificent creature!
Off to find some food.
Then I arrived at the Terra Nova Natural Area where a relatively large group of Snow Geese was found beside the sharing farm. The sun shone through the clouds and gave me good lighting to capture some goose-in-flight shots.
Probably my favorite shot of the day.
After spending at least ten minutes photographing the geese, it was time to check other places out.
Shy finch eying a red fruit.Yum!
A Great Blue Heron was a couple of metres away from me staring into the grass. I waited for it to do something exciting, but no luck.
Then it was pretty much time to go home because it would be almost completely dark by the time I biked back to our house.
Yellowlegs in the ditch.
Sunset.
A good birding Sunday. Oh yeah, I also saw my first Hooded Merganser pair in the ditch along No. 3 Road. But the cars were passing me that photographing on the point would be kind of dangerous. Nevertheless, it was nice to see them pretty birds again.
